Hypnosis is a natural state of selective, focused attention. This unique state of consciousness opens the door to countless possibilities for healing, self-exploration and change. Hypnosis has been recognized for thousands of years and used for many purposes in cultures around the world.

Ericksonian Hypnosis uses indirect suggestions, which are much harder to resist because they are often not even recognised as suggestions by the conscious mind, since they usually disguise themselves as stories, traditional tales, or metaphors. Reflecting on the stroy becomes the post-hypnotic suggestion.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming explores the relationships between how we think (neuro), how we communicate (linguistic) and our patterns of behavior and emotion (programming). One oversimplification is "changing the way you think, speak, and react" to a given set of circumstances. As with Ericksonian hypnosis, trance is not necessary.

Qi Gong is literally "energy work" in Chinese. There are many approaches to Qi Gong (also spelled Chi Kung), including physical exercise, manipulation of the body, and meditative practices. Some forms can be administered remotely.

Usui Reiki Ryoho is a specific Japanese form of energy work for personal elightenment and healing, in which hands are placed just off the body or lightly touching the body, as in “laying on of hands.” Reiki can also be done remotely, “long-distance.” Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese spiritual healer, introduced Reiki to the world in 1922. It can be considered a Japanese form of Qi Gong or shamanic healing. Recently, a branch of the Native American Church has researched the parallels betwen Japanese and North American shamanic healing and has introduced Nehm Usui Reiki Ryoho.

Life Coaching helps people identify and achieve personal goals. Life coaches assist clients by using a variety of tools and techniques, drawing from many disciplines. Some specialize in business situations, and prefer the term business coach. Whichever, the coach helps the client recognize goals, set targets, and tailors a specific and unique plan for each situation.
